A programme of English song to celebrate the Queen's Jubilee Year. A mixture of works from this Elizabethan age and the last, with some of Her Majesty's favourite pieces. Soprano, Margaret Aagesen Hughes, whose voice has been described as "liquid gold", will be accompanied by Andrew Carter, piano and Lynn Carter, oboist.

Southern Sinfonia, the professional Chamber Orchestra, celebrates the Queen's Platinum Jubilee with a concert of wonderful music by our most famous British composers. Among many outstanding pieces, Vaughan Williams' 'The Lark Ascending' will star and a 'Proms' element may come in too .
