St John’s Church Taunton – Lunchtime Concert “Pearls on Scales” Ruskin and Friends with Margaret Aagenson Hughes, soprano and Andrew Wilson, piano

FreeA programme of music loved, written and even hated by John Ruskin; the great critic, artist, writer and thinker born in 1819. Including the Song Cycle “Pearls on Scales” – settings of Ruskin’s poems by Andrew Wilson, written for the bicentenary celebrations last year. A setting by Andrew of Margaret’s words completes the circle. Margaret Aagensen Hughes has enjoyed wide success having been engaged as a conductor, guest soloist, adjudicator, and jazz accordionist, alongside devising imaginative solo recitals. Andrew Wilson is an award winning composer, conductor and pianist from Devon. His lively and engaging music has been widely performed, published, recorded and broadcast throughout the world.
Doors will open at 12.00pm when cold drinks will be available to enjoy with the sandwiches you bring with you. Before the concert starts at 12.45pm there will time to chat with friends and meet the charity representatives.
