Visit of the Choir of Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Utrecht

As a part of its summer tour, the choir of Holy Trinity are repeating their visit to St John the Evangelist, Taunton from last year. They will sing Choral Evensong, in the tradition of the Book of Common Prayer, at 5.30pm on Friday, 31st July.
Each summer the Utrecht choir, as part of a church in the Church of England, in the Diocese in Europe, takes time out to sing services at in England. This year, as well as Evensong at St John’s, they will sing Choral Evensong and Choral Eucharists at Bath Abbey, Wells Cathedral and Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford.
The growth and enjoyment of traditional choral services is noticeable, particularly in The Netherlands amongst the Dutch. This visit provides a wonderful opportunity for the Utrecht choir to broaden its knowledge within the cradle of Anglican life and its traditions. But also, to offer its service to churches here in England.
We hope to welcome you at St John’s and to meet the choir after the service over some refreshments.
