The Music Festival is to encourage and promote the performance and enjoyment of music. Aiming particularly, but not exclusively at young people, it provides a challenge and unique opportunity to perform in a competitive and non-competitive situation in front of an adjudicator.

The Taunton Junior Young Singer of the Year competition has been created following the success of Taunton Junior Young Musician in 2014/15 and the ever-growing interest in the Taunton Young Singer competitions. This is a competition to find Taunton's' Junior Young Singer of the Year.
