The Phoenix Singers – ‘Contrasts’ – A tapestry of choral pieces

A concert of contrasting choral music.  The first half of the evening contains sacred works including music by Arvo Part and Eric Whitacre.  The second half of the programme is secular with much of the music featuring the words of William Shakespeare.  Madrigals both old and new by Morley, Wilbye and Rutter and two Shakespeare songs by Mathias.
