Rossini’s Petite Messe Solenelle which is neither small nor solemn nor, strictly, a mass is the finest work of Rossini’s later years and is full of vigour and humour, We are giving the exciting version for choir plus two pianos and harmonium. And two sopranos, Cheryl Rosevear, Louise Innes and Eamonn Mulhall perform the solo parts plus the current Somerset Song Prize winner James Atkinson.
