Somerset Opera – ‘Patience’ by Gilbert and Sullivan

Ticket prices – Adult £12, Children £5 – to include afternoon tea. ‘Patience’, (or Bunthorne’s Bride’) first seen in London in 1881, satirized the contemporary aesthetic craze led by Oscar Wilde and his literary circle. Director Sue Richards has updated the production from the poetic 1880’s to the hippie 1960’s, and there are a lot of parallels.
