DESCRIPTION:Vitaly Pisarenko \n“…Immensely gifted pianist…with prodigious technique\, myriad shadings and scrupulous accuracy…” New York Times \nBorn in Ukraine\, Vitaly Pisarenko gave his first piano recital at 6 years old \, following later piano studies in Rotterdam with  Aquiles Delle Vigne* : – considered by Vitaly to be one of his important piano teachers –\nat the age of 21 he won First Prize at the Eighth International Franz Liszt Piano Competition in Utrecht launching his career. SUMMARY:Choral Evensong
DESCRIPTION:The Wilbye Quartet will again visit St John’s Church to sing Choral Evensong using their choice of heavenly music.  Jane Cresswell soprano\, Lynn Carter alto\, Roger Bates tenor and Simon Davies bass formed the Wilbye Quartet during Covid lockdown\, at a time when only small groups could meet.  They found the experience to be such a pleasure that the group continued to meet after restrictions were lifted and with a growing reputations enjoy giving performances across the West Country.

Between them they have almost 200 years of playing experience and have played in venues around the UK and European countries including Finland\, Germany\, Holland\, Belgium\, Luxembourg\, The Czech Republic\, Eire\, France and Italy. Their music ranges from 16th to 21st centuries and range from classical to religious and on to Jazz and modern.\nRetiring collection in aid of Love Musgrove\, Musgrove League of Friends and St John’s Church.

DESCRIPTION:During the Heritage Weekend there will be opportunities to hear the Fr Willis organ played by well known local organists.     \nWe are expecting to have a visit from local well known organist who will play a selection of music to suit all tastes for visitors  to sit  in the Chancel so they can see all the activity\, by sitting at the back of the church  indulging in a piece of cake and a cup of tea or even as they stroll around looking at the displays of vestments and historic  papers and artefacts.
