DESCRIPTION:Taunton Festival of the Arts organised three competitions for young singers during this year. Those events produced a very high standard and displayed a wide range of repertoire. The prize winners will perform at St. John’s to share some of their competition songs with the audience. They include the first place winners Ava Fitzhugh\, from Crediton\, (Taunton Young Singer)\, Spike Maxwell\, from Milverton\, (Taunton Young Music Theatre Singer) and Esme Knight\, from Taunton\, (Taunton Junior Young Singer). There were also four days of vocal music making in February demonstrating that Taunton Festival is\nhriving. Do come and hear for yourself the standard these young people have achieved. DESCRIPTION:Adam Parris of Derbyshire is a versatile\, talented young musician will make his debut in\nTaunton\, by using the Father Willis organ as well as playing some\npiano solos. He could just as easily use his guitar in a programme\nof pop music. He is a professional pianist\, organist\, director of music and\ncomposer\, who regularly tours the UK and abroad. \nWhilst he is classically trained\, his musical tastes and influences have led him to\nwork with a broad range of notable musicians and composers. These\ninclude John Rutter\, Bob Chilcot\, the renowned acoustic guitarist\nGordon Giltrap\, Nicki French (a past Eurovision Song contestant) and\neven Basil Brush!
