SUMMARY:St John's Lunchtime Concerts\, Combined Choirs of St Alban's Schools
DESCRIPTION:This 40 strong choir\, comprised of the combined choirs of St Alban’s School and St Columba’s College are touring South West England at the beginning of July. We are most excited they have chosen to include St John’s Church in their itinerary and eagerly await to hear the their performance which will include “Jazz Missa Brevis” by Will Todd\,. The acoustics and setting of St John’s Church will offer an excellent venue for these young people to give their only performance in Taunton.\nLike the regular Friday Lunchtime Concerts\, the doors will open at 12.00pm and the performance will start at 12.45pm. You are welcome to bring your sandwiches and cold drinks will be available. \nThe Choir have nominated the Mayor’s Charity which this year is for Cancer Research Uk to share the retiring collection with St John’s Church.

DESCRIPTION:Trio Exe invite you on a musical journey back to Russia in the 1890s. A period when Russian music was full of romantic melodies and gorgeous harmonies\, with native composers respected and revered across Europe and a thriving cultural scene.\nThe main work in our programme is the Piano Trio No. 1 by Anton Arensky. Possibly not a name you have come across\, and we are delighted to bring you this sumptuous music if it is your first introduction to the composer. Arensky specialised in composing chamber music and was devoted to the music of Tchaikovsky\, even using some of Tchaikovsky’s melodies in his own works. This Trio is a whirlwind of contrasting moods\, from the dramatic to the cheerful\, both memorable and uplifting and guaranteed to brighten your day!\nThey will also play some arrangements of pieces from Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker.

DESCRIPTION:Jane Anderson-Brown and Iryna Ilnytska are no strangers to the operatic stage in the West Country and elsewhere\, as they have played many different roles while working with various opera companies. They enjoy working together at The Red Earth Opera Company\, which Jane founded with the intention of bringing quality productions within affordable reach of people living in Devon. Janet enjoys supporting her daughter and her friends by accompanying them during their concerts and rehearsals. SUMMARY:St Johns Taunton - Lunchtime Concert: TAUNTON YOUNG SINGERS
DESCRIPTION:Taunton Festival of the Arts organised three competitions for young singers during this year. Those events produced a very high standard and displayed a wide range of repertoire. The prize winners will perform at St. John’s to share some of their competition songs with the audience. They include the first place winners Ava Fitzhugh\, from Crediton\, (Taunton Young Singer)\, Spike Maxwell\, from Milverton\, (Taunton Young Music Theatre Singer) and Esme Knight\, from Taunton\, (Taunton Junior Young Singer). There were also four days of vocal music making in February demonstrating that Taunton Festival is\nhriving. Do come and hear for yourself the standard these young people have achieved. The performance will start at 12.45pm and last for approximately 45 minutes. DESCRIPTION:Adam Parris of Derbyshire is a versatile\, talented young musician will make his debut in\nTaunton\, by using the Father Willis organ as well as playing some\npiano solos. He could just as easily use his guitar in a programme\nof pop music. He is a professional pianist\, organist\, director of music and\ncomposer\, who regularly tours the UK and abroad. \nWhilst he is classically trained\, his musical tastes and influences have led him to\nwork with a broad range of notable musicians and composers. These\ninclude John Rutter\, Bob Chilcot\, the renowned acoustic guitarist\nGordon Giltrap\, Nicki French (a past Eurovision Song contestant) and\neven Basil Brush!
