Max subsequently gets embroiled in this tissue of lies\, deceit and malice aforethought\, as does the mysterious Captain Lesgate\, Wendice’s accomplice.Will Tony’s detailed and murderous plan work? Has he indeed designed the perfect murder and will he get away with it? DESCRIPTION:From Tuesday 8th – Saturday 12th November 2016 at 7.30pm with a 2.30pm Saturday matinee. \nThe scene is the exclusive London fur salon of Bodley and Crouch\, where Crouch (the well-meaning innocent) struggles to keep things on an even keel despite the energetic philandering of his partner. At the moment\, Bodley is trying to secure the affections of his latest would-be mistress by “selling” her husband an expensive mink fur coat for a fraction of its real worth\, and the stammering Crouch is saddled with the task of consummating the sale with a straight face. But\, as luck would have it\, the husband seizes the bargain coat as the perfect gift for his own mistress—whereupon the complications burgeon uproariously\, with poor Crouch caught in the middle. Suspicious wives\, mistaken identities\, scantily clad girls clapped hurriedly into closets and a continuous barrage of rapid fire jokes all become part of the hilarious doings\, as the action of the play bubbles along merrily right up to the final curtain when\, miraculously and to the great relief of all concerned\, everything somehow manages to work out as it should.

SUMMARY:Taunton Thespians - Round and Round the Garden - one of Norman Conquests\, by Alan Ayckbourn
DESCRIPTION:Norman is married to Ruth\, who is sister to Annie and Reg. Reg is married to Sarah\, and Annie isn’t married to anyone\, but is friends with Tom\, a vet. Annie is\, however\, planning a naughty weekend in Hastings with her sister’s husband\, Norman. Reg and Sarah are coming down to Hold The Fort and look after Mother. Nothing\, of course\, goes according to plan. \nThe Taunton Thespians have been fortunate enough to secure one of the few weeks available in the legendary Chiswick and Mortlake Players’ revival of Alan Ayckbourn’s Round and Round the Garden\, first performed in the suburbs of London as part of the Norman Conquests’ Silver Anniversary Tour in 1998. Eighteen years on\, their portrayal of this wonderful comedy\, rooted firmly in the compost rich soil of mid-70s sitcom humour\, is just as robust and funny as ever. These six wonderful actors have grown up with Norman\, as it were\, and audiences are in for a treat. \nAlan Coles\, Lorna Evans\, Clare Fidler\, Brian Lewis\, Nikki Court and Rob Smith will storm the Brewhouse stage from 8th to 12th March\, finishing their whirlwind week with a West End Gala Night on Saturday 12th March. Patrons can anticipate all the glamour and glitz of a London opening night – the celebrities\, the dresses\, the buzz in the foyer\, the flashing cameras and the red carpet – so ensure you purchase your tickets well in advance! \nTicket prices are: £10 on Tuesday 8th and the Saturday matinée on 12th\, £14 on Wednesday to Friday (9th-11th) and £17.50 for the West End Gala Night on Saturday 12th March\, which will include a souvenir programme (to be signed by the cast at the end of the performance) and a glass of wine. Our usual concession price of £5 will apply to all performances except the West End Gala Night.

DESCRIPTION:Alan Ayckbourn’s version of the first of the famous Aldwych farces was produced by the National Theatre. It’s the story of an unsuccessful inventor who inherits the life interest in a fortune which is to revert on his death to his cousin George Maitland. As Cousin George is thought to have died abroad\, the inventor has the brilliant idea of “dying” so that he can resurrect himself as his cousin and avoid paying his enormous debts. Complications arise in the form of George’s wife\, another Maitland imposter (the butler’s brother) and finally the real George Maitland himself! \nAdd a scheming butler\, lugubrious gardener\, smarmy solicitor\, fainting female and ironic aunt\, and you have a cocktail of comedy that would defeat Prohibition. This wickedly funny and physical play is full of Roaring Twenties spirit\, pace and dash\, with wisecracking dialogue\, mistaken identities\, polish and pizazz. \nThink Wooster\, think flappers\, think spats – think it’s been done?
