SUMMARY:Piano Recital - Marie Pascale Talbot Hitier
DESCRIPTION:Marie-Pascale first studied at the Conservatoire of Caen and then at the Conservatoire National Supérieur of Music and Dance in Paris under Yvonne Loriod-Messiaen and Jean Hubeau\, before completing her studies at the Conservatoire Royal in Brussels and training as a teacher at the Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris.  She was an award winner in the European Community music competition in 1989.  Her professional career is divided between teaching piano and chamber music\, and being a concert pianist as soloist\, chamber musician\, accompanist and vocal coach.  In more recent years\, her concerts have included Twenty Contemplations on the Infant Jesus by Messiaen\, Mozart concertos\, Brahms quintets\, works by Schumann\, Dvorak\, Vierne and Schubert’s Winterreise for voice and piano.\nThe afternoon will finish with the serving of Tea and Cakes.

DESCRIPTION:Haydn Quartet in F minor Op 20 no 5\nWebern Langsamer-Satz\nSchubert Quartet in G\, D887 \nJoin us for an unforgettable afternoon of chamber music as the we present three important works that span more than a century of quartet writing.\nHaydn’s String Quartet in F minor\, Op. 20 No. 5 shows the composer at his most innovative\, from its dramatic opening to a brilliant fugal finale.\nNext in the programme is Webern’s Langsamer Satz\, a single movement work full of intense romantic longing\, written before he developed his more modernist style.\nThe concert concludes with Franz Schubert’s String Quartet in G major\, D887\, one of the great quartet masterpieces of the nineteenth century. Vast in scale and full of contrasts.
