DESCRIPTION:Taunton Junior Young Singer is open to any singer (previous winners may enter as long as they have only won once before) resident\, or attending school\, within a 50-mile radius of Taunton and aged between 9 and 13 on 1st September 2024.  \nEntrants should be Grade 4 standard or above – the teacher’s recommendation is sufficient if no exams have been taken.  \nClosing date:  TBC

SUMMARY:Taunton Young Singer/ Young Music Theatre Singer Competition
DESCRIPTION:This competition for young singers has been set up by the festival in response to the ever-growing number of entries in the Music Festival. It was also felt that singers should have their own competition and not be judged alongside their instrumental contemporaries as in past Taunton Young Musicians competitions.  \nCompetitors are invited to perform a programme from different periods and genres\, up to a maximum of twelve minutes. Movement will be permitted\, if appropriate\, but not costumes or props.
