DESCRIPTION:Lunchtime Serenades \nQueens College Students will enjoy performing the annual lunchtime concert at St John’s which perfectly represents an opportunity to continue a tradition that dates back to the inception of the Lunchtime Concert Series in 2011. It will provide a platform for young musicians to display their skills while contributing something to the wider community. Music ranging from various genres will provide something for everyone. \nRetiring collection in aid of Dorset and Somerset air ambulance and St John’s Church. \nDoors will open at 12.00pm\, Concert will start at 12.45pm. \nDrinks will be available before the concert.

DESCRIPTION:Post-Restoration music with a twist!\nFrom recorders and viols to shawms and bagpipes\, three multi-instrumentalists turn the spotlight onto music from Purcell’s time\, encompassing sonatas and country dances.\nJude Rees\, David Jarratt-Knock and Mary Mohan are multi-instrumentalists with wide experience in a variety of genres including early music from medieval to baroque\, folk\, and classical.\nThis programme brings to life small-scale music making from the time of Henry Purcell\, juxtaposing formal trio sonatas with earthy country dances\, on a range of instruments including recorders\, shawms\, cornetts\, viols and bagpipes.
