Taunton Choral Society is a well-established choir with around 80 or so members. The choir has a long history of high quality choral singing and gives three concerts each year, usually with orchestral accompaniment. Its repertoire is mainly traditional, but not exclusively, sacred music. Recent performances include Vaughan Williams' 'Sea Symphony', the Mozart 'Requiem', Handel's 'Messiah' and Stainer's 'Crucifixion'. Concerts tend to be in Taunton itself although we have also sung as far away as Wells Cathedral. Our enthusiastic and talented Musical Director is Stephen Bell.
We rehearse each Tuesday night at 7.30 in Temple Methodist Church; prospective new members are always welcome.
