Laurence Blyth is conducting WCS in this much-loved oratorio which, though traditionally performed at Christmas, was originally intended to be sung at Easter. It is now hard to believe that this masterpiece, written in just 24 days, had a cool reception when first performed in London. Daisy Walford (soprano), Juliet Curnow (mezzo-soprano), Nicholas Hawker (tenor) and Matthew Cann (bass). Our retiring collection will be in support of the Somerset Trust for Arts & Recreation (STAR).
